A wet weekend at Knockhill

With finances low, Knockhill was not an option for Nick Leason.

Although, Silverstone being the next round meant that Nick would need some very good tyres to test on. Silverstone is a very big meeting for CMS as Cube_design will have a large presence there, entertaining guests throughout the weekend. Nick frantically raised some finance with the assistance of Cube_design which enable the team to visit the Scottish Circuit. The weekend objectives was to qualify and not race and leave with some very good tyres to test on at Silverstone.

Severe weather conditions at Knockhill saw Nick Leason only complete one lap in the first qualifying session. The car reached the gravel on turn two and had to be retrieved by the marshals, which meant immediate exclusion from the session. The car did not sustain any damage although it gave the guys about 3hours work stripping and cleaning the gravel from the car.

The second qualifying session saw Nick complete six laps and return to the pits safely. The weather was closing in and getting worse.

By time sunday came the horizontal rain and low cloud base helped the team feel better about not racing. The conditions resembled winter not an August summers day.Nick was pleased not to be out racing as the terrible driving conditions just seemed to get worse with visibility down to a few feet.

So objective achieved and it was home to Northampton and get ready for Silverstone in three weeks.
