Nick Leason will make his Porsche Carrera Cup GB debut at Brands Hatch (18/19 August) when he joins Team Parker Racing for rounds 15 and 16 of the championship.

Leason, who started the 2007 season in the BTCC, will join the Carrera Cup initially for a one-off weekend, but is hopeful that the outing will lead to a full campaign in 2008.

"I want to be out there and the team has given me a good opportunity to race at Brands Hatch," said Leason. "I'm really looking forward to jumping into a Porsche.

It’s something different for me and the Carrera Cup is a great series to be in."

Eurodebt Financial Services will back the Northampton racer, who started racing in 1994. Since then, he has raced extensively in saloon and touring cars and also competed in the Lamborghini GTR Super Trophy in 2002 and 2003.

He graduated into the BTCC in 2006 and contested the early season races in 2007.

Now, he is eager to make his mark in the Carrera Cup GB, although the first time he will drive the car will be in testing at Brands Hatch on Friday.

"I'll be going straight into the Friday test. But I'm just glad to be out there and this is definitely an option for next year."
