Successful S1 weekend for Cameron Leason & NJL Racing
Team NJL Racing had a successful weekend at Clay Pigeon for the 6th round of the British Super One Series running Cameron Leason who is the youngest driver to enter Formula KGP. Cameron finished a respectable 7th in the final in only his second KGP race weekend!
Cameron added “we had good pace most of the weekend unfortunately until we went into qualifying were we had a small water leak which caused a slight pressure decrease in our engine resulting us further down the grid than we anticipated. But this was easily fixed and in the two heats I managed to work my way up and get two good results for the grid for the first final putting me in 13th spot. I got a great start in the first final and came out the first corner well up in position, but then saw me the end of the result of a race incident through the chicane which saw Bilbeisi launch into the air and collide straight into the side of me resulting in a red flag and putting me out of action and a visit to the ambulance with a injury to my arm.. Luckily there was a long break before the second final and I was able to rest up my arm and get some treatment so I could get out for the main race. The main Final saw me further back on the grid due to a non finish in the last race, but again I got a great start and was able to move forward throughout the race which resulted in me finishing in 7th which I am very pleased with in my second outing in Formula KGP S1.. I now am looking forward to the final round in four weeks time.”
Team owner manager - Nick from NJL Racing commented “we’re very pleased with our progress especially this weekend it was a great result! The Team are moving forward all the time with Cameron in KGP. It’s a great result for young Cameron in only his second KGP race and we know he has more to come... Andy Cox from KGP has done a great job with Formula KGP series and thank him for his support this weekend!"
